The Speke Resort conference center is undergoing final touches ahead of the NAM and G77 events in January 2024

Final touches are being applied to the newly built Speke Resort conference center, including fittings, air conditioning, and audio-visual equipment installations, among other things. These finishing touches are critical to ensuring that the convention center is completely outfitted and ready to accommodate a variety of events. The attention to detail in these installations will provide participants with a pleasant and technologically sophisticated setting.

The one-of-a-kind venue will host the 19th NAM Summit on January 15-20, 2024, as well as the Third South Summit, also known as the G77 Summit, on January 21–23, 2024.

The facility is a collaboration between the Ruparelia Group and the Ugandan government's investment arm, the United Development Corporation (UDC). The convention center is planned to draw attendees and participants from all over the globe, promoting Uganda as a leading international event location.

The convention center seeks to deliver a seamless experience for both organizers and guests by providing state-of-the-art multimedia technology, vast conference spaces, and beautiful lodgings nearby.

The Speke Resort convention center has a 3800–4400-seat auditorium, 12-high-end conference rooms, breakaway meeting rooms, and a café that can accommodate 700–900 visitors, among other amenities.

The facility will be incorporated into the current 105-acre lakeside resort complex, which already includes two luxury lakeside resorts owned by the Ruparelia Group, Speke Resort Munyonyo and Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort.

The three landmark hotels, when combined, contribute roughly 40 indoor meeting and banqueting facilities of varying sizes to Uganda's hospitality industry, with a capacity of 19,000 people! This is in addition to a number of other outdoor locations.

Aside from the conference spaces, the complex has 476 rooms in different formats, including 54 presidential suites. These rooms have spectacular views of Lake Victoria and are outfitted with contemporary conveniences to ensure visitors have a pleasant stay.

The lakeside resort complex is slated to become a prominent destination for both business and leisure tourists in Uganda with the addition of the new facilities.

The new conference center is also backed up by three contemporary kitchens capable of preparing up to 10,000 meals every day. These kitchens are manned by a team of highly talented chefs that specialize in a variety of cuisines, providing visitors with a choice of eating options throughout their stay.

Furthermore, the convention center is equipped with cutting-edge audiovisual technology and high-speed internet connectivity, making it a perfect site for conferences, seminars, and other business events.

At its highest capacity, the facility employed 10,000 people; however, once completed, it will employ just 250 people. The center's peak capacity construction, which employed 10,000 people, demonstrates its major contribution to job creation and economic development in the area.

However, once completed, the operations of the center will be professionally handled by a dedicated staff of 250 personnel, ensuring flawless service delivery and retaining the center's reputation as a prominent location for varied events.

More parking space has been secured, increasing the facility's capacity to 1500 automobiles.
