After Museveni's Approval, Victoria University Finally Receives A Charter


Victoria Institution, a premier premium and experiential university, has been given a charter that will allow it to offer Bachelors, Masters, Doctorates, and Honorary Degrees. The National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) has invited the University's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Lawrence Muganga, for the ceremonial delivery of the charter, according to a letter obtained by this website.

The letter, dated August 16, 2022, and signed by NCHE Executive Director Prof. Mary J.N. Okwakol, declares that President Museveni signed the Charter for Victoria University on July 31, 2022. "On July 31, 2022, H.E. the President of the Republic of Uganda signed the Charter for Victoria University." I congratulate Victoria University on this accomplishment on behalf of the National Council for Higher Education and on my own."

Victoria University now joins a list of higher education institutions in the nation recognised as equivalent to public universities by the Ministry of Education and the NCHE. The University, which was established in August 2013, has the ability, facilities, and commitment to revitalise higher education in Uganda and the region. The University is dedicated to taking the lead in introducing and producing high-quality education and student-centered learning experiences that are distinctive, inventive, and difficult to duplicate.

The University is situated in the middle of Kampala, on major public transit lines, and has enough of parking.
