Toddler singer Patrick Ssenyonjo aka Fresh Kid is making good progress in his education at Kampala Parents School, and he has now abandoned the prevalent Luganda language in favour of English, in which he is rapidly becoming proficient.
Fresh was once barred from performing as an underage kid by a Government Minister, who eventually reversed her decision owing to widespread criticism.
Starting with social media, where everyone has a serious opinion on everything, the Minister was slammed, and some cunning politicians who knew how to ride the wave and entered the fight rapidly gained their mileage out of this in the media.
However, luck continues to follow him as he was given a scholarship to Kampala Parents School a few days later. However, the critics returned, claiming that he does not speak sufficiently fluent English to fit in at Kampala Parents and would distract other students due to his celebrity.
Fresh Kid, who was just sworn in as the Games Prefect at Kampala Parents School, now speaks English well, unlike when he first arrived at the school. He has also shown considerable confidence in his responses to queries posed to him.
Fresh Kid said in a recent interview that this is because he has learned new languages at school and found friends who speak the same language.
