Hundreds attend Ruparelia Foundation's Medical Camp in Kamuli District as part of their corporate social responsibility drive

 


The Ruparelia Foundation, founded by city businessman Sudhir Ruparelia, sponsored a medical camp at the Shree Hind Bhavin Samal in Kamuli District over the weekend, with physicians seeing to 846 persons.

The Ruparelia Foundation is gave free eye exams, therapy, glasses, and cataract procedures during the medical camp.

Statistics from the medical camp, which began on Saturday, August 20th and will continue through Sunday, August 21st, 2022, show that numerous individuals in the Kamuli region benefited from it.

Among those who benefited from the medical camp were 846 who were screened; 83 who received successful eye procedures; and 69 who underwent surgeries, 14 of which are still in progress.

Cataracts continue to be the major cause of blindness in poor and middle-income households, with the largest burden documented in the Karamoja and Busoga areas, which is why the Ruparelia Foundation chose to concentrate on the Kamuli district


.The Ruparelia Foundation, led by Rajiv Ruparelia as Managing Director, has always attempted to recruit and treat a significant number of Ugandans at their yearly eye camps, and the most recent one drew thousands of individuals who benefitted from this corporate social responsibility.

During the eye camp, Ms. Joystna Ruparelia, who represented the Foundation and visited Kamuli Township Primary, vowed to help the school by refurbishing certain classroom blocks, supplying academic supplies, library books, and computer accessories.

"Giving back to the town where I grew up fills my heart," Joystna Ruparelia remarked.

Sheena Ruparelia, Director of Ruparelia Group, said that the Foundation is honoured to be located in the hometown of their founder, Joystna.

Meanwhile, the medical camp was also graced by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Rebeca Kadaga, who contributed to the camp's success as a crucial actor.

Following the successful medical exercise, the Ruparelia Foundation expresses deep gratitude to the several partners who provided essential assistance to the eye camp.


The Foundation expresses heartfelt appreciation to the North Indian Cultural Association (NICA), which provided invaluable assistance to the eye camp by providing free eye treatment to the residents of Kamuli.
