VCON Sudhir’s construction company has been awarded a $9.1 million construction project by Islamic University Uganda.

A $9.1 million (UGX 34 billion) contract to construct the Faculty of Engineering at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) in Mbale has been awarded to Ruparelia Group's VCON, one of East Africa's capable civil engineering firms.

The dorms and the main academic building make up the project's infrastructure. Following the IsDB's no-objection letter, VCON, which was represented by Ruparelia Group Chairman Sudhir Ruparelia and IUIU Principal Prof. Ismail Simbwa Gyagenda, signed the agreement last week.

The agreement states that the project should be completed in 15 months. After the contract was signed, Prof. Gyagenda said that the project had been long overdue and demanded that the contractor complete the work within the allotted time frame while following the authorized specifications and standards.

Gyagenda said, "Science and technology are the engines of growth in the country and around the world. This project is crucial." Dr. Sudhir gave the university his word that the project would be completed on time and to his exacting standards.

"Our company currently has 11 ongoing construction projects, and these will be added on with sufficient technical capacity," the man said.

As a building and civil engineering construction firm with the ability to carry out projects with a professional touch, with a focus on customer satisfaction and on-time project completion, VCON was established on April 4, 2016.

The company is well outfitted with cutting-edge technology to meet the requirements for a construction organization firm. The company is dedicated to completing tasks on schedule and firmly believes in creating high-quality items at the lowest cost.

Executives of the company claim that they chose to locate in Uganda because of their expertise in the field, which would allow them to compete successfully in the current construction market.

The company has completed two projects: Tagore Living and Bukoto Living, two residential apartment complexes, and the multimillion-dollar Kingdom Kampala Mall, a commercial complex.
